Possum Students Recognized for Anti-Bullying Efforts

A group of Possum Students was recognized on Friday, Jan. 14,  by Sheriff Gene Kelly for an anti-bullying video they created.

Sheriff Kelly and Deputy Mark Lane attended an assembly at the school to present the Student Recognition Award to the students. The students were featured in an article by the Springfield News-Sun.

Eighth Grader Kolton Rice decided to make the video and recruited classmates to start in it to help spread the message against bullying.

"We are incredibly proud of our students for their compassion and their efforts to educate others about bullying," said Principal Michelle Heims. "Their work is a terrific example of the inclusive and welcoming environment our students and staff create at Possum School."
