Board Selects New Superintendent

The Clark-Shawnee Board of Education voted to hire Brian Kuhn as the district’s superintendent, effective August 1, 2018.

“Mr. Kuhn has many of the leadership qualities identified as priorities for our next superintendent by board members, staff and community members during the search process,” said Mrs. Michelle Garrett, Board President. “His familiarity with the district and the opportunities and challenges we are facing in the coming years will be an asset to Clark-Shawnee and we are excited about his vision for the future of the district.”

Mr. Kuhn is currently the assistant superintendent at Clark-Shawnee, a role he has served in since 2012. Prior to that he was a building principal at Possum School and Hustead Elementary in the Greenon district, and taught for six years at Indian Valley Middle School and Starbase at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Mr. Kuhn holds a Bachelor’s degree in middle childhood education from Wittenberg University and a Master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Dayton.

“I am honored to be the next superintendent of Clark-Shawnee Local Schools,” said Mr. Kuhn. “Over the last seven years, I have been proud to be part of the exceptional education offered at Clark-Shawnee schools and to collaborate with our top-notch staff, dedicated Board of Education, and supportive parents and community members to provide outstanding opportunities for the children of this community. I look forward to continuing those partnerships and our shared commitment to excellence in my new role with the district.”

Mr. Kuhn and his wife, Erin, reside in the Clark-Shawnee district with their children; their school-age children attend Clark-Shawnee schools.
