School counselors at Clark-Shawnee assist in the development of the whole child through personal, social, educational, and career counseling. The foundation for this begins in elementary school and continues throughout the student's school career. Our Clark-Shawnee counselors are dedicated to the success of each student.
College Credit Plus
Ohio’s College Credit Plus can help you earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. This program aims to promote rigorous academic pursuits and provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. Learn more about CCP through the Ohio Department of Education.

Clark-Shawnee and CTC senior, Dakota Roy, placed second in Technical Drafting at the SkillsUSA competition. Roy will advance to the state competition in April 2023.
Shawnee seventh grade placed first overall and Shawnee eighth grade placed third overall.
Shawnee High School students competed for a spot in the Regional FlexFactor Competition. Out of the 20 Shawnee teams who presented, two will advance to the regional event on April 21, 2023, at Sinclair Community College.
As an individual who deals with speech disfluency, Carah has found the power of her voice and is using it to positively influence her peers.
Sara Deerwester was named Commended Student 2023 National Merit® Scholarship Program and recognized as Rotary Club of Springfield's Student of the Month.
Shawnee senior RJ Griffin was recognized as the Penn Station Athlete of the Month for November 2022.
The students were excited about the opportunity to show kindness to others while decorating pumpkins.
Shawnee Braves football players will honor Clark County Sheriff Deputy Matthew Yates for the 2022-2023 season. Players will wear Deputy Yates' unit number 60 on their helmets this fall.
“Elle inspires everyone who knows her — even after she graduated, she still inspires us,” said Sherry Akers, Smith’s former guidance counselor at Shawnee. “Elle is an authentic example of empowerment, and we hope to embrace that virtue going forward.”
Bringing awareness to heart diseases is a cause that the district is passionate about because of one high school student’s journey.
