Clark-Shawnee Local Leads Clark County in 2026 Ohio School Report Card Results
Student achievement and academic growth continue to be a source of pride for the Clark-Shawnee Local School District.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has released the 2026 Ohio School Report Cards, and Clark-Shawnee Local Schools earned the highest overall rating among traditional public school districts in Clark County.
This recognition reflects the hard work of our students, teachers, support staff, administrators, families, and community. While a report card provides only one snapshot of student achievement, the results provide encouraging evidence of the progress being made throughout our district.
A Strong Showing Across Clark County
The Ohio School Report Card provides information about district and school performance through an overall rating and six individual components: Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Graduation, Early Literacy, and College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness.
Clark-Shawnee's results demonstrate the commitment of our staff and students to academic growth and high expectations.
In particular, the district's continued progress at Shawnee Middle School and Shawnee High School has been noteworthy. During the previous report-card cycle, Shawnee MS/HS received the State of Ohio's Momentum Award, recognizing buildings that demonstrate significant improvement in achievement while also showing strong academic growth. Shawnee was the only middle or high school in Clark County to receive that recognition.
That momentum has continued as our students and staff work together to build upon the academic gains made in recent years.
More Than a Rating
At Clark-Shawnee, we believe the most important measure of success is not a number or a star rating. It is the growth and success of our students.
Our teachers and support staff work every day to provide students with meaningful learning experiences, appropriate academic challenges, and the support they need to reach their potential. Our students, in turn, continue to demonstrate the effort, perseverance, and commitment necessary to succeed.
The 2026 report card is an opportunity to celebrate that work while also recognizing that there is always room to grow.
Our goal is not simply to perform well on a state report card. Our goal is to deliver a high-quality, student-centered education for all learners.
Thank You, Braves!
Superintendent Brian Kuhn expressed his appreciation to the entire Clark-Shawnee community:
“These results are a reflection of the tremendous work being done by our students and staff each and every day. I am incredibly proud of the dedication our teachers and support staff demonstrate in helping our students grow academically. I also want to thank our families and community for their continued partnership and support of Clark-Shawnee Schools.”
The district remains committed to using student performance data to identify areas of success, address areas where additional support is needed, and continually improve the educational experience provided to every Clark-Shawnee student.
Congratulations to our students, teachers, staff, families, and community on this accomplishment!
GO BRAVES!!
