Homecoming Activities Postponed
UPDATE: The start of the football game has been delayed. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
Dear Clark-Shawnee Families,
The National Weather Service is tracking the path of the tropical storm and its effects on local communities. They are predicting severe weather conditions as the storm approaches our area. In light of the weather forecast and expected wind speeds, tonight’s homecoming activities before the football game will be rescheduled for October 11, 2024.
We want to make sure our students and community members can fully enjoy our traditional homecoming activities which are hallmark events for our Shawnee Braves. Unfortunately, due to the forecasted weather from Hurricane Helene, we won’t be able to proceed with them at this evening’s game.
On Friday, October 11, we invite you to join us for our homecoming festivities, which will include our annual parade and the presentation of the homecoming court. The Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at the dance tomorrow evening and introduced to our community on October 11. At this time, the football game is still scheduled to begin at 7 PM.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we work to ensure that Homecoming 2024 can be a special event for our students.
Sincerely,
Brian Kuhn
Superintendent
Clark-Shawnee Local Schools
