McGuire Reaches 300 Wins at Shawnee High School
On Monday, December 30, 2024, the Shawnee High School Athletic Department celebrated an exciting achievement in the school's basketball program. They honored Mr. Chris McGuire for achieving his 300th victory as the Head Boys Basketball Coach. Coach McGuire earned his 300th win on Friday, December 20th, and continues to add to his total, reaching 303 on Monday, December 30th.
McGuire has achieved several notable accomplishments over his 20 years as Head Coach. He maintained a winning record in the Central Buckeye Conference (CBC) in 16 out of 19 seasons and claimed four league titles and one district title. McGuire has the most wins in Shawnee High School history across all sports and averages over 15 wins per season.
The journey to 300 victories has been marked by consistency, growth, and an unwavering commitment to developing his players on and off the court. On December 30th, many of McGuire’s former players returned to their alma mater to celebrate his achievement.
“Coach McGuire has had remarkable success both on and off the court over the past 20 years,” said Athletic Director Steve Tincher. “Under his guidance, his players not only improve as basketball players but also grow into better young men. Shawnee has been very fortunate to work with Coach McGuire and we look forward to many more years of his leadership.”
This incredible achievement places McGuire among an elite group of Clark County coaches including Wayne Wiseman, Don Henderson, Bill Smith, and Kris Spriggs.
As Coach McGuire continues to build on his legacy, the Shawnee High School community looks forward to many more seasons of success and growth under his leadership.
